シンガポールガール

LOL, been too caught up lately, what with coming home and meeting up with people and whatnot, so haven't really come here to blog.

Anyways, here I am. Back home!! ^^ Feels great to be back, actually, but you know, after I got back home and the entire family was going out to have dinner again, I had this strange feeling, as if I'd never left at all. So weird right? Like, you would have expected half a year spent in a foreign country to at least change me a little.

Well, I guess I have been changed in some subtle ways. Like how I try to layer my clothes to give them more texture and volume, and how I do make-up everytime I leave the house, even how I can sit in front of the mirror for close to an hour fixing my hair. And when I veg out in front of the TV watching a programme in Japanese, I find the subtitles seriously annoying, when I used to rely on them to even understand a word of what they're trying to say. And how some Japanes phrases tend to slip into my everyday language, and how my English is apparently deteriorating to the point of no return, according to my best friends. =P

But yeah, aside from all that, I'm quite quintissentially Singaporean. A tropics girl. Grows best in sunshine near the sea. Not to say that I felt completely uprooted and alien when in Japan, in fact it's quite the opposite. I felt like I've adapted to life there quite well, and if asked to imagine myself living out the rest of my life there, I won't have any difficulties. Except maybe the problem of language, but that can always be breached by practice and hard work. But yeah, I'm still an SG girl inside. Maybe it's because all my family and friends are here, or more like it's because I'm so suited to the hectic study-is-all lifestyle here, or maybe it's just because SG guys are still my cup of tea MUAHAHAHAH!!

Yeah, I do think SG guys are, on average, better-looking than their にほん counterparts. I mean, the latter definitely know how to dress and groom better, compared to them the local boys look like they've just spent a week living homeless on the streets. But yeah, beneath all the decorations and frills, I personally find Singaporean boys much more pleasing to look at. Hoho~ Well, of course there are exceptions; there will always be a handful of Japanese guys who are just perfectly awesomely handsome, but ain't that the case all over the world? Anyway, all those who are really worth looking at, you can already see them on TV as celebrities, so you're not missing out on much, really. =)

So, been home for about 5 days now, and all I've been doing is going out with some friends, vegging out in front of the TV (gosh how I missed that!!), finally getting to read the last 2 books of Stephen King's Dark Tower series, and sleeping >12 hours a day. And gorging myself on local fare, of course. Man, chicken rice never tasted so good lol!! So far, I've had chicken rice, satay, cha kuay teow, carrot cake, tau huey, pearly soya, bubble tea, bakkwa and blessed homecooked food. What's left will be hokkein mee, yong tau foo, and icy cold desserts. And maybe some more I haven't thought about yet. Heehee~ So exciting to just think about food. Over there in Japan, it's been all pasta, ramen, udon, gyoza, and bento, over and over again. Quite a variety too, I guess, but not all crazy and delicious as SG's. XD

Alright, it's 12:30am now, should be getting into bed and reading myself to sleep. Man, I looooooove being a lazy-ass pig at home. =)

ps: I'll be missing One Piece on TV tomorrow morning though, saaaaaddd. I wonder if Luffy will start chasing Ace to Marineford already. I forgot where the last episode ended off..
